Personal & Professional Care

I graduated with honors from both the University of Maine and the University of South Alabama.  My elective course concentrations included women's studies, marriege and family, abnormal personality, and addiction.  Outside of the University I studed wholistic and spiritual healing which has included  obtaining certifications in hypnotherapy, energy work, herbology, reflexology, aromatherapy and massage therapy.

My Qualifications

I have an undergraduate degree in History and Sociology.  My master's degree is in Community Counseling.  I am a Supervising Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.  I have over 2, 000 hours of continuing education with a concentration in addictive disorders, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and personality disorders.  I have given many local and state workshops on topics ranging from the Mind/Body Connection to the Evidence Based treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.

More than 20 years of experience working in the personal growth and mental health fields.

My clients enjoy rapid and lasting results in therapy because we work together in the session and between sessions to achieve success.  Why between sessions?  Because  most of us need support and coaching.  We need someone on our side to guide us in  how to use our new skills or how to approach a perceived crisis.   Therapy with me works because the science of psychotherapy only goes so far.  It is in the fine art of the therapist that makes the difference.  #1.  I sincerely care about you.  #2. I have lots of tools to use--talk therapy, relaxation therapy, hypnotherapy just to name a few.  #3.  I am there when the going gets rough.
